I wish I were a Morning Person
I used to teach high school kids every other morning. I changed the routine a little bit because it's tiring to get up so early on Monday mornings. We made a decision to study together on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They preferred to study with me late at night, but I suggested to the students that they come to my study before they go to school. To my surprise, they all agreed to get up early and work with me from seven in the morning.
I had always longed to start a day early, but my willpower was too weak to take action. I needed some company to fulfill my wish. That's why I had my heart set on working with kids at such an early time.
I was far from being a night owl until I became a mother. Having three children took my quiet time away for good. They didn't even sleep through the night when they were infants. I was so exhausted that I was depressed. However, I could regain my energy while the children slept. It's like a heaven in the darkness. I could've slept too, but I wanted to do some type of job for my own benefit. Since then, I have become a night owl.
Fooling around until midnight is not unusual. Last night I stayed up watching Chinese television shows until 6:30 a.m even though I had to teach kids early in the morning. It sounds foolish but I can't help but say that I go free during the night.
What's bothering me is that I should be at work by 7 a.m three days a week. So I need to change my lifestyle, which seems to be a difficult task indeed.
I wish I were a morning person. Right from the beginning, with my new morning routine, I did try to go to bed before 11 p.m but it didn't turn out to be steady. I soon found myself practicing the old habit all over again. It seems that it only makes things worse. Look at me, staying up at 12:48 a.m.
I read this book several weeks ago. The book is excellent read if you want to change your life style by starting your day much earlier than you used to. The author is a Korean-American lawyer living in South Korea. She made a habit of getting up early since she was young. Later she picked up this habit once again and changed her life. I wish I could get up at before 7 a.m. I really want to change my old habit.
